Ajuga - Toffee Chip
Ajuga Toffee Chip, Ajuga 'Toffee Chip' PPAF, is a spectacular new groundcover which thrives in full sun or full shade and offers four seasons of interest with its evergreen foliage. This unique variety has small leaves that emerge as brown and khaki shades and mature to gray-green with a lovely creamy-gold margin. At only 2-3" tall, Ajuga 'Toffee Chip' PPAF remains neat and tidy and is perfect for a border or in a mixed container. Bright blue flowers on 8" spikes compliment the decorative foliage in late spring. It is relatively carefree, however, it can be invasive. Ajuga 'Toffee Chip' will do best in a shaded area but will adapt to morning sun. It prefers moist soil with a good drainage but will tolerate moderately dry areas. Do avoid soggy conditions. This Ajuga looks great in rock gardens, as a border plants, in mass plantings and is great for preventing erosion. Butterflies and hummingbirds are defiantly attracted to Ajuga, not to mention being deer resistant and a low allergen. If one is looking for a perennial ground cover to exceed in a hard to grow shady area, Ajuga is the way to go. (Click Merchant link below for full description)
